Auditions
Mid-season auditions will take place late August or early September. To be considered for an audition, please click here to complete the online application form. Upon receiving your application, we will review it and contact you with possible audition times. Materials will be provided upon audition invitation.
Audition Requirements are as follows:
- Prepared solo, about two minutes in length.
- Prepared melisma from the Kyrie movement of Mozart’s Requiem (Measure numbers are approximate.)
Sopranos: measures 47 - 50
Altos: measures 35 - 38
Tenors: measures 30 - 33
Basses: measures 33 - 36 - Prepared quartet by Schubert for a blend check

Auditions are typically 15 minutes long, and take place at Benaroya Hall.
About the Chorale
The Seattle Symphony Chorale, the official chorus of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, was founded as the Seattle Chorale in 1953 by Leonard Moore. The Chorale began its formal affiliation with the Symphony in 1976 and now consists of approximately 120 volunteer singers chosen by audition.
